BRAGS

Tim Seifert (Rotarian of the Month): This past weekend, Tim went to Santa Cruz to visit friends and family. He had a great time and it was a perfect weekend. (FREE BRAG)

Kevin Walthers: had a birthday and an anniversary (that's all the info that we got). $59

Peter Sterling: he had a birthday as well (again, no more info) $62

Mike Moats: On the other hand, Dr. Moats and his wife recently returned from a trip to Maui and had lots and lots of info (he made up for the others). For $100 he can talk as long as he wants to wink

Jerry Schmidt: went on yet another unsuccessful hunting trip (he should switch to fishing). This time he and a friend took their life in their hands by camping out in an RV, south of the border in the middle of nowhere. Needless to say, I think a lesson was learned and he won't be repeating that experience anytime soon. $100

PROGRAM

This week's program was presented by Stephanie Bertoux from the Life Steps Foundation-Wisdom Center. Stephanie spoke to our group about the many good works being done by this organization. Currently the Wisdom Center provides adult day care for medically and mentally challenged seniors that require "round the clock" care. The Wisdom Center provides meals as well as medical monitoring and skilled nursing to all enrolled participants. The program now runs at full capacity (60 clients) but with new construction (2200 Depot St.) currently underway, 100 clients will be the new maximum. A fundraising campaign has been an ongoing project for the organization and the financial goal is almost 50% attained. If you would like more information or help contribute to the cause, please call 614-9108 for more details.
