BRAGS & FINES

Due to the length of our special program, there were no brags or fines this week.
Program
ALICE - Alert, Lockdown, InformCounter Evacuate

Our program this week was presented by Russ Mengle, California Police Officer with the Department of Justice Task Force.  He provided a very informative presentation on preparation and training for an Active Killer event.  The term used today is Active Killer versus shooter; unfortunately today, they don’t always choose a firearm for killing.  The definition of an Active Killer is someone
immediately causing death and/or serious bodily injury.  This isn’t exclusive to a firearm.

There are about 20 Active Killer events a year.  The question is:  How do we protect ourselves against  violent attacks, most of which occur at schools, churches, government agencies,  or industrial centers? Comes back to preparation: for generations we have been taught about fire safety, - Fire Safety week in October.  We have also learned about Earthquakes, and practice the Great American Shakeout.  But do we prepare for an Active Killer?

The ALICE program Alert, Lockdown, InformCounter Evacuate helps train and prepare people to respond to an Active Killer Situation.
