Stories
Program for the Visually Impaired
Robin Wingell and her 'assistants' provided an update for our Club regarding their recent trip, where they visited Magic Mountain, took judo lessons, enjoyed bike riding and swimming, and ate ice cream!  Our Club has been supporting these adventures for several years.

BRAGS & FINES

Jean-luc Garon (Rotarian of the Month): The temporary 'fill in' Bull-A-Ton Editor did not hear a brag from Jean-luc this morning.  Perhaps it was because he was sitting on a beach in a different time zone and could not figure out the time differential to call in his appropriate 'free' brag?

Wayne Miller: bragged $100 and talked about his brother's success with a bone marrow procedure.  This was great news.

Jack Gresser: bragged $50 about a recent river cruise on the Rhine and a particular stop in Amstersdam.

Dan Blough: bragged $50 on his recent river cruise along the Lewis and Clarke Trail in Oregon.

Mike Moats: bragged $100 on his recent outing to Vancouver Island and his expensive ling cod caught on the Cambell River.

Mike Gibson: was fine $30, just because PP Jim said to fine him.  The vote was unanimous.

Shannon Seifert:  was fined $30 for the same thing that Mike was.......... just because.

Anju Agarwal: was fined $30 for making rookie Rotary mistakes.

Kathy Simas:  was fined $30 because she is now part of 'us', not 'your'; and she also threw in the info that Alex was going golfing with several Rotarians this weekend.....

Mark Clarke:  was fined $30 for being a 'golf' tattle tale.

Dave Wright:  bragged $100 and talked about his memorable post/pre/post retirement trip to Spain.  Is he retired yet?  We could not get a straight answer.  He was also fined $30 because Jim said to fine him.

Wendy Foxen:  bragged $100 on her daughter Jamie, and her almost graduation from CalPoly.

Peter Sterling:  bragged $50 for the recent Elk's Queen Candidate events that provided over 1/2 a million dollars for good causes in our community.

Tim Staffel:  bragged an additional $50 on Peter for his work with the Elks.

Well done Peter!

Jim Ventriglia:  bragged $46 on his recent anniversary.  Where would he be today without Roxanne?!

Tony Spinelli:  combo-bragged $50 on his anniversary of 19 years to Marcia, and Antonia's upcoming graduation.

Laurie Tamura:  The temporary 'fill in' Bull-A-Ton Editor heard a brag of $100 for Cowboy's kicking cancer from he thinks, soon to be Past President Laurie?
PROGRAM

Joe Armendariz - SB County Taxpayers Association

This week's program was presented by Mr. Joe Armendariz of the SB County Taxpayers Association.  He provided an informative talk about the SBCTPA Energy Initiative in our County.  He provided interesting statistics about World energy availability and usage.  He said that nearly 40% of the World population has little or no access to modern fuels.  He discussed the ERG Resources oil production program at West CAT Canyon, which could generate $44 million dollars in tax revenues to the County over 14 years.  He explained how North County payroll, personal income, jobs, and economic growth could be impacted by this one project alone.  Mr. Armendariz want us to follow this project and lend a voice of support when needed.
