BRAGS
Doug Palmer (Rotarian of the Month): although he successfully made it through the entire month without being present he was given one last change to brag.  His brag was that since they were remodeling their house they took off to the Islands (Maui and Oahua) for 3 weeks, a great trip lots of whales, and only one hour of rain.

This month's Rotarian of the Month is:  Debbie Blow, who bragged on Shannon Seifert who nominated her as a Woman of Excellence in the Creative Risk Taking category.

Dan Blough, took his wife to dinner for their anniversary for a $25 brag

Frank Ortiz bragged $20, last Thursday was Grandson’s 9th Birthday.  They took him to Oceano to the Melodrama, where they made a big deal of it because they knew him.

Mike Moats bragged $50 on a city council at work picture they all voted yes on an item

PROGRAM

Argent Data Systems

Our program for this week was provided by Scott Miller from Argent Data Systems.

Scott got his first electronics kits when he was 9 years old.  His Dad was a telephone repairman who encouraged him to get interested in amateur radio.  Scott got his Hamm radio license at 10.  He worked as an IT technician at Vandenberg Air Force Base in their rain scheduling and planning department.  At the same time he got his Para glider license and become interested in being able to remotely monitor weather and to make a GPS receiver to record his glider flights.  He is a problem solver, entrepreneur, and an inventor which led to the development of kits that he sold online.  In 2008, Scott left his day job and got an office on Betteravia, where he developed and sold weather balloon kits with a GPS tracker that he invented.

Scott continued his interest in inventing and trying new things and is currently producing LED Hula Hoop lights.  The Hyperion Hoop business has taken off and he now employees 6 people in his business.
