BRAGS

Doug Palmer (Rotarian of the Month): Keeping with the recent tradition, once again the "Rotarian of the Month" recipient was not in attendance to accept his award and free brag opportunity. He is a well deserving member and I'm sure that he'll make up for lost time next week. Congratulations Doug!

Teresa Reyburn & Mike Gibson: bragged $100 each for the recent success of the Special Olympics Dinner that was held on February 4. Extra big kudos go to Testa Catering for providing a great meal for everyone at the event.

Frank Ortiz: and his wife Scottie, had a great time at Kristine Mollenkopf's auction dinner that was bought at the 2016 Barn Party, so he bragged $100. Frank also had fun celebrating another birthday recently and that was worth another $100. Thanks Frank for that very generous donation!

Mark Bachman: Celebrated his birthday for the 49th time. $49

Rich Watson: was extremely happy to brag that his son is now an official Certified Public Accountant (having passed all the necessary tests). That brag was worth $50

Mike Gibson: took the opportunity to brag again. This time on Jim Peterson for helping to ease his wife's back pain and Mark Clarke for hosting a spectacular Super Bowl Party. $50

Mark Clarke: recently added a new Toyota Highlander to his home auto inventory. Mark thanked Carl Deriso for all his help and he and Linda are greatly enjoying their new "ride". $50

Jim Small: Jim and his wife recently celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary. That was worth $50

FINES

Kristine Mollenkopf: had a birthday and tried to ignore it. President Laurie had other plans. $30

Kevin Walthers: Kevin was recently spotted in Newport Beach at a local Rotary meeting. Way to go Kevin!.....but I guess it's a fine anyway?? $30

Jim Ventriglia: was recently photographed working hard (yeah right) at the latest "Stag Night" BBQ. $30

Andy Caldwell, Tim Staffel, Mike Moats and Mark Clarke: were fined during the course of the meeting for assorted reasons that I failed to write downsad. Anyway, each one was worth $30.

Female Program at Los Prietos

This week Ashley Guggia (Deputy Probation Officer, Sr) spoke about the the relatively new program at Los Prietos Boys Camp. Mainly known for helping young men turning their lives around and becoming productive citizens, now the program is branching out to help "at risk" female clients as well. Since it's inception in 2014, the program has generously awarded $4,000 in scholarships to six well deserving young ladies. The funds given help them pursue a higher education that otherwise would not be obtainable. Santa Maria Breakfast Rotary is proud to help sponsor and support all activities involved with the camp.

Congrats to a "new" Rotaract Club!!

It was reported at our meeting that our local Rotaract Club now has the official fifteen members needed to become an official club with Rotary International. We are very happy for them and look forward to supporting them in any way we can.
