BRAGS
Jean-luc Garon (Rotarian of the Month): Jean-luc is proud to announce that starting next week there will be a new restaurant at the Santa Maria Inn. "The Century Room" is the restaurant's new name. Drop by and check it out when you get the opportunity. He also wanted to acknowledge all the Mothers out there in celebration of Mother's Day this Sunday.
Wendy Foxen: bragged on she and Jim's 32nd wedding anniversary which so happened to be on this day (May 11, 2017). Congrats you two! $32
Kate Ferguson: Kate's mortgage loan company has a new name "Loan Depot". She also bragged on all the club members for once again "rising to the occasion" and selling or gifting away all the tickets for the Barn Party Luau this Saturday. Note: Tickets can still be purchased at the door, so feel free to spread the word. $25 was the brag amount.
Mike Buhring: gave a big "shout out" to Mark Jackson for all the hard work he's done in once again getting the barn decorated for the Luau. $25
Terri Stricklin: became a great grandmother to a beautiful 5 lb 9 oz baby girl. Congratulations Terri! $59
Tim Seifert: bragged on Mike Buhring for negotiating a new Barn Party contract with the S.M. Fairpark for 3 more years. $20
Pat McDermott: just came back from an exciting trip to Idaho where he saw his dear friends Bob & Marcy Freidlein, who took the time out of their busy lives to give the McDermotts a guided tour and kept them entertained each and every day. Pat was so excited and grateful about this that he bragged a whopping $5 (yes, that's a five). As Mike Gibson would say "That's just not right!!".........Bob, if you reading this, call him up and give him an ear full.
Martin Testa: flew back in on Tuesday after a 9 day trip to Maui. He and Debi had a fantastic time but only had enough money left to brag $1 for each day spent. $9 (Now if I put McDermott's and Testa's donations together, they would barely have enough to buy one of my pizzas)
Mark Jackson: was extremely grateful for everyone's participation in the annual decorating of the barn. He also noted that the new Rotaract Club was a key element in getting things accomplished. Of note, Superstar Ava Bradley (Ken's daughter) was an enthusiastic volunteer that helped out on almost every available shift. That brag was worth $50.
Dan Blough provided all the pictures this week. He also took the opportunity at the meeting to update everyone about the planned camping trip at the end of August. Dan has all the details, so if your interested in participating please give him a call.
