BRAGS

Laurie Tamura: just returned from a 30 day vacation trip. During that time she went to France, Ireland and Scotland and played a lot of golf along the way. She had a fantastic time! $100

Jerry Schmidt: traveled to the base of the Grand Tetons to do some serious Elk hunting. Unfortunately for him (and lucky for them) they were in short supply. Oh well, the scenery was great and he had a great time overall. $50

Kate Ferguson: and her husband Fergie celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary by traveling to Oregon for some much needed rest and relaxation. They also saw a tremendous amount of Elk (who knew they could run that far to get away from Jerrywink) $41

Betty Miller: recently returned from helping her daughter relocate to Santa Maria from Santa Rosa. She is glad that her daughter is safe and sound and she wanted to express her upmost gratitude to the many services that helped Northern California throughout the devastating fire catastrophe. $100 to the compassion fund

Kevin Walthers: was very proud of the recent AHC Foundation fundraiser that was held at the Santa Maria Airport. After all is said and done $130,000+ will have been raised for the organization. $100

Wendy Foxen: was happy to celebrate husband Jim's 57th birthday. $57

Kristine Mollenkopf: had a recent 6th wedding anniversary ($6) and she was also happy to tell us about a new major grant that was received by the city to help fight local homelessness "Give a hand up, not a hand out" ($50)

Frank Ortiz: bragged on Testa Catering for the great job that they did at the "CASA at the Ranch" fundraiser. $35

PROGRAM

Naughty Oak Brewing Company

This weeks program was held at an offsite location, the Naughty Oak Brewing Company in Old Orcutt (165 S. Broadway). The owner Steve Kitts not only hosted the meeting, but he also was the featured speaker as well. Mr. Kitts began developing his beer brewing skills in 2013. During that time, he developed a 7 barrel brewing system that focused on clear lagers and flavorful ales. After a few years of practice, he eventually started brewing 10 gallon batches for Rooney's Pub. As the beer varieties grew in popularity, he and his wife Emily began looking for a place to open a tap room devoted to their unique brand. In December 2016 they opened their flagship location in the old Pasion' restaurant space in Old Orcutt. The location is open 6 days a week and currently offers different theme nights with outside food vendors supplying the snacks. The business is doing so well, that recently they opened a second location in Santa Ynez. For more information call (805) 287-9663
