BRAGS
Shannon Seifert: Shannon bragged on everyone that helped make "Laurie's Step Down Party" one of the greatest Rotarian events of the year (so far). In particular, she wanted to mention Terri Stricklin and her staff at the Hitching Post for all their hard work and excellent service. Ken & Brooke Bradley (hats), Kevin Walthers (jokes), Frank Ortiz (service awards) and Pat McDermott (??? I'm sure it was something good) were also mentioned. Thank you Shannon for the great celebration and very generous $100 brag.
Tim Seifert: raised his hand, but had no brag?????? (a definite senior moment)
Mark Bachman: wanted to stress to everyone that he didn't take a "Vacation". He called it "Time Away From The Store". The "time" he referred to took place in Hawaii. I don't know about everyone else, but in my book that means a vacation. Anyway, he and the family had an outstanding time and that was worth a big $100
President Laurie Tamura (her last official meeting): wanted to brag on the club for helping her make this past year one of the most fun and rewarding times of her life. She also took a moment to introduce and acknowledge Bernice from the Santa Maria Inn for a great job this past year putting up with all of us every Thursday morning @ 7:00 AM. Sure Laurie had a great time, but now she's really looking forward to filling the Past President's shoes. Her brag was worth $100 as well.
EDITORS NOTE: I would just like to make mention that she is the only Rotary President (that I'm aware of) that did not miss a single meeting the whole year of her term in office. In fact, I think that she even woke up at 6:30 AM one day and still managed to get there and kick the meeting off on time. Congratulations Laurie on a job well done!
PROGRAM
Past President Mark Jackson
A Meeting of the Fines
This week, Mark took the opportunity to bring everyone up to their fine limit for the year by conducting a fun trivia contest about all the past presidents of our club. As usual, Mr. Jackson brought fun and levity to the occasion and everyone had a great time trying to figure out the correct answers. I was tempted to post a question sample, but after much thought I decided that "What happens at Rotary, stays at Rotary"
The following members were fined varying amounts: Leonard Champion, Betty Miller, Gary Nemetz, Doug Palmer, Kathy Simas, Terri Stricklin, Tony Spinelli, Rich Watson, Anju Argawal, Mike Cardona, Wayne Miller, Jean-luc Garon, Pat McDermott and Teresa Reyburn
PASSING THE BATON
Laurie Tamura officially hands off the Club's leadership role to our new incoming President, Kristine Mollenkopf.
