North County Child Protection Center
Founded in 1974, the purpose of the North County Rape Crisis and Child Protection Center is to reduce the incidence of and vulnerability to sexual assault and child abuse by providing education and prevention skills to community children and adults and to alleviate the trauma experienced by survivors of these crimes by providing direct services.
The hot line provided by the center is a 24 hour hotline; anyone can call at any time and get information.  Nicole spoke about the opportunity that she often has to go to schools and talk to students about safety.  She shared that this has really helped, as students will call and get help after these presentations.  Anyone who has been a victim of social violence can call.  They are assisted in walking through the incident and knowing their options and where to find resources.  It means a lot to the victims.
The center also offers support groups, personal safety and self defense training, and works closely with juvenile hall.
