BRAGS
Tim Seifert (Rotarian of the Month) - Tim had a great trip to King City. He hunted, fished and helped the local FFA with a BBQ fundraiser. He was a little bit tired and sore, but all in all, he had a great time!
Craig Bernard - He and his wife Kelly, had a great time at Avila Beach. Frank and Scottie hosted a Rotating Dinner at the seaside location. A great time was had by all. $50
Jim Peterson - Just returned from Hawaii, where he and Arlene partied and golfed with fellow Rotarian couples - $50
Ted Ortega - He and Beth were also part of the Hawaiian Bunch. They even had a better time than the Petersons - $51
Jack Gresser - was also in Hawaii. Yvonne and Jack must have had the best time of all (judging by his brag amount) - $52
Mark Bachman - Mark made a trek to Hawaii as well. It wasn't all pleasure as a business meeting was the main priority... but he did get to go with the wife and no kids, so that was worth $100.
Mike Moats - recently returned from a trip to Arizona with a 4 foot/300 lb cactus in hand. This wasn't just an everyday cactus, it was a Saguaro (carnegia gigantia). He also helped his wife Susan celebrate her birthday (who knows, maybe the cactus was her gift?) Anyway, after an informative lesson in cacti history, Mike bragged a big $100.
Mike Gibson - Mike had quite a few brags. 1. CALM Fundraiser (net $25,000) 2. Waiters did a great job! 3. Awesome Scholarship Committee (68 apps/30 recipients) 4. Shannon's $13,000 grant money. All that said, the brags were worth $100.
Martin Testa - Martin had a birthday and he and Debi also enjoyed the Rotating Dinner at Avila Beach with the Ortiz's $62
Wayne Miller - survived his annual Vaquero Ride. He had quite a few bumps and bruises, but he thoroughly enjoyed himself. $30
Michelle Jensen - bragged on Frank & Scottie Ortiz for their Rotating Dinner and Mike Gibson for a nice BBQ after the scholarship winners were chosen. $25
Laurie Tamura - brought us up to date regarding Lawnae Hunter. Lawnae recently celebrated another birthday and is currently struggling with some health issues. She lives in Oregon and keeps in touch with Laurie on a regular basis. Laurie urged everyone to keep her in our thoughts and prayers. $50
Frank Ortiz - wanted to brag on Kate Ferguson for organizing a Rotary essay contest that included our local high school kids. In fact, one of our students came in third place among all district entries. $25
Jason Stillwell - he and his wife also attended the Ortiz/Avila Rotating dinner. $25
Peter Sterling - he is very pleased with the quality of candidates for this year's Elks Queen Contest. Peter is once again in charge of the contest and looks forward seeing the competition play out in the coming weeks. $25
