Gary Nemetz(Rotarian of the Month): bragged on Shannon Seifert for making he and his wife feel extremely welcome when they moved to Santa Maria a year and a half ago.
Ted Ortega: bragged on everyone that helped make this year's Operation Surf a great event. In addition to all the volunteers he particularly wanted to mention the BBQ team, Terri Stricklin and Mike and Michelle Buhring. $200
Jimmy Ventriglia: has successfully recuperated from recent surgery and is now back at his normal post selling 50/50 tickets. Welcome back Jimmy!
PROGRAM
Los Prietos Boys Camp
This week's program was presented by the staff and students of the Los Prietos Camp. The goal of Los Prietos is to return wards to the community as responsible and productive members of society. Discipline, respect and responsibility are the motto of the facility. The programs embrace a zero gang tolerance philosophy and provide work and vocational training as well as promoting volunteer and community work service. Our club was proud to present a number of scholarships to help benefit their recent graduates. In addition, club member Kevin Walthers announced that AHC will provide books and free tuition to successful Prietos students that would like to pursue a college education.
