Brags:
Rotarian of the Month : Teri Strickland
Teri bragged on everyone in the club, as she is so impressed with the selflessness of our members. She lives in Nipomo, but would not have joined any other club.
Her husband’s Birthday is Tuesday, and they just finished the fiscal year for their business; it was the best year they have ever had!
Parade Brags
Carl DeRiso, bragged $50 on the flag handlers
Mike Gibson, bragged $50 on the canned goods drive
Laurie Tamura, bragged $50 on the insert in the newspaper
Mark Jackson, bragged $50 on the judges, particularly the Interact judge, Hector. He wants to be a mechanical engineer and Mike wants to hook him up with a mentor. It was another great year for the parade
Other Brags
Dale Johnson, missed the parade because the Boys and Girls Club had an event the same night. His grandson is a boxer, and it was great to watch him - $25.
Rich Watson, bragged $50 on the Babes in Toyland performance. He also mentioned that his wife’s birthday was on Tuesday. However it wasn’t the happiest of Birthdays as she fell off a ladder on Sunday and broke her heel. They were building a fence for a new puppy when it happened.
Doug Palmer, bragged $25 on the Jr. High students who helped with the parade banners. However, there was one school that was MIA. They called to ask why the school hadn’t shown, and it turns out they were instructed to help with the flag instead. Doug thinks his $25 should be a reward for kidnapping.
Dan Blough bragged $50 on Scottie and Frank Ortiz, they went as their guests for the Melodrama; great performance, and professional actors.
Laurie Tamura, bragged $50 on the PCPA performance of Beauty and the Beast. Martin and Kevin helped with reception.
Laurie thanked the Staff from Santa Maria Inn for all their help and support. They need to see Jean-luc, for their check. :)
Mark Clarke, bragged $50 on his first grandson, Nolan Henry Clark, born 11-26. His wife also had a Birthday.
Fines:
Ted Ortega was fined for being a dangerous guy with a drill. The tip of drill slipped off and went through his left thumb while preparing for the parade. After it kept bleeding he went to the ER, and still made it back for start of parade.
Mike Buhring, was fined $30 for being in San Francisco and this picture taken by a Christmas Tree, he couldn’t remember the name of the hotel?? He was also fined another $30 for not introducing himself.
