ANNOUNCEMENTS

1) Luau Planning Meeting: Directly after today's club meeting there will be another meeting (oh boy!). For those of you that have been too shy to get directly involved, now is your chance to remedy the situation. See Mark Jackson for more details.

2) Don't forget: March 17th is St.Patrick's Day!!! Have yourself a SAFE and "semi"-sane celebration (remember, we want to see you back here next week). Who knows, you may even find some good potential Luau guests while your celebrating.

3) Mark you calendar: In two weeks (March 29), Jackson and Dworaczyk will give the club a recap as to how their recent Guatemala trip went. Rumor has it that there might even be pictures involvedsmiley

4. Barn Party Tickets: If you haven't received your tickets yet or maybe need more, see Kate Ferguson ASAP. If you have your tickets but haven't sold or distributed them yet, you better get moving. May 12th will be here before you know it.

4) Auction Items: are due April 20th (see Frank Ortiz for more details)

5) Rotating Dinners: All dinners are in the process of being arranged by the assigned hosts. If you signed up but don't see your name on the list, contact Kate Ferguson (again ASAP)

6. Fashion in Aktion: This annual Kiwanis (yes, I said Kiwanis) fundraiser will be held on Sunday May 6th. The Strut and Stroll event is always a big crowd pleaser. Tickets will probably sell out quickly, so if interested, see Teresa Reyburn for more details and prices.

Possible New Luau Site???: Jason Stillwell showed the club a picture of a possible future site for our annual Luau. This reporter doesn't have all the details, but it kinda looks like it's a vacant dirt lot located near the Enos Ranch shopping centersurprise

Rotary Foundation Fiesta: Laurie Tamura informed the club that the Rotary Foundation Fiesta is coming up on May 4th. No details yet, but we are told that this is rare for this to happen in our area, so we should give it our best effort to make it as successful as possible.

BRAGS

I'm sure that there will be lots next week

FINES

NOTE: Some days it just doesn't pay to be a member's sponsorsad

Jerry Schmidt: still hasn't perfected the "Four Way Test" yet. Unfortunately, it cost his sponsor (Dan Blough) $30.

Roberto Rodriguez: showed "tremendous growth potential" in his knowledge of the Object of Rotary. That's all good and well but it still cost his sponsor (Mike Gibson) $30

PROGRAM

Regional Occupation Program

Today's program was presented by Linda De Maria and Jim Sousa from the County Education Office of William J. Cirone. They spoke about the Regional Occupation Program. The program offers high quality career technical education courses, career education, career development and workforce preparation to approximately 3,500 high school students per year in the Santa Maria, Lompoc, Santa Ynez, Santa Barbara and Carpenteria communities. A question and answer period followed their presentation.
