8) Guest Karen Cornwell, presented the WRITE Program

WRITE stands for Working to Raise Individuals Through Education.  Write is a nonprofit, with a mission to increase student literacy among second language learners, by providing tutoring to help get students College and Career Ready.

Randy Wise bragged on Tim Seifert for approving plans for the Enos Project

Debbie Blow bragged on Orcutt Union School District principal, Liz Herbstreith, who was selected as the California Elementary Principal of the Year!

 

Andy Caldwell: bragged on Mike Gibson & Shannon Eckroth who helped one of his kids get a job.  He also bragged on Dave Wright for participating in the

Bataan Memorial March. ($200)

 

Dave Wright: bragged on completing the Baatan Memorial March, a 26 mile hike in the desert honoring WWII veterans. ($100) way to go Dave!

 

Laurie Tamura: bragged on the City of Santa Maria staff for their hard work.  ($100)  She also bragged on the server from the Santa Maria Inn, last meeting Laurie was owed change, and the server remembered and brought her the change today. Laurie asked that the money be given back to her.

 

Frank Ortiz: bragged on Jean-luc, for taking care of friends from Idaho ($25)

He also bragged on celebrating his anniversary with Scottie.  They celebrated their anniversary by watching baseball. ($25)

 

Pat McDermott was coerced into bragging $30 for his mention in the paper as being one of the OCAF Gala founding members.

 

Kate Ferguson: bragged on her daughter who organized EdCamp Santa Maria, a professional development series.

 

Tax accountants – Pat, Craig, Lee, and Michele were fined $5 each.

Caitlyn Vassar and Aaron Salazar, from the About Time Duo served as our program today.  They are playing tonight at Moxie Café, and have been playing every other Thursday, since the fall.  We were entertained with several of their original songs.
