Recognized for groundbreaking work uplifting foster youth in Santa Barbara County by ACEsConnection, an online social platform for practitioners implementing trauma-informed and resilience-building practices for youth.
FBSMV is proud to offer a diverse array of programs dedicated to supporting at-promise youth. Our initiatives focus on academic success, character development, improved family engagement, teen substance abuse education/prevention, and access to essential resources like housing, food distribution, and mental health services.
Founded in 2003, Fighting Back Santa Maria Valley emerged from a coalition concerned about the impact of drugs and alcohol on local youth and families, Our mission is to partner with all members of the community to achieve resilience against substance use, reduce violence, and promote a healthy and safe environment for our youth and families.
Founded in 2003, Fighting Back Santa Maria Valley emerged from a coalition concerned about the impact of drugs and alcohol on local youth and families.
The nonprofit’s scope has since expanded to include reducing violence and promoting a safe environment in the Santa Maria Valley, encompassing several districts and nearly 30,000 enrolled students.
Through partnership, leading coalitions, and fostering resilient relationships with at-promise youth, Fighting Back aims to create a drug-free community and counter negative influences, one child at a time.
