BRAGS

Dan Blough: bragged $130 on he and his wife's birthday. Yes, apparently Peggy and Dan have the same exact birthday date. The brag amount was a symbol of their combined age.........It's amazing how good Dan looks for being 85 :)

Teresa Reyburn: bragged on the club and Hancock College for donating to the recent children's production of Aladdin that her Parks & Rec department organized over these last few weeks. She was very grateful and appreciative. $25

Tim Seifert: bragged that we needed a new club computer????? No money or bragging was involved, just a statement of fact.

Andy Caldwell: will be heading out this week on his yearly summer vacation with the family. In fact, his family has already left him in the dust and headed out already (no worries, I'm sure he'll catch up with them). He also bragged on Shannon Eckroth for getting one of the Caldwell children a much needed summer job. All of this was worth $100.

Pat McDermott: Pat & Cyndy's youngest daughter Megan, was married this past weekend. They are very happy about how everything turned out. They especially wanted to thank all the Rotarians that had a big part in making the wedding a spectacular event. $100

Valerie Moya: recently relocated her mother to Arroyo Grande from Lake Isabella. She is very happy. This allows her to not only visit her mother often, but she also can attend the Arroyo Grande Rotary Club every now and then as well. $25

Ted Ortega: was expecting to be fined but was coaxed into bragging a little instead. He just returned from a 10 day trip to Hawaii. Apparently, what happens in Hawaii, stays in Hawaii...........$50

FINES

Jean-luc Garon: was fined for knowing who's picture was in the current issue of Rotarian magazine (that's just not right!!!) Unfortunately for him, that's still worth $30
PROGRAM

This week's program was presented by Kelly White O'Neill (and Stacy Stanfield) from Angels Foster Care

About Angels

Foster a Child, Foster a Future

Founded in 2006 by Meichelle Arntz, Angels Foster Care has placed close to 200 infants and toddlers in stable, loving Angels foster homes.

Meichelle became involved in foster care by volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in Santa Barbara County, where she learned firsthand about local foster care, dependency court and the challenges faced in providing foster care to approximately 500 community children, many under age three.

Meichelle was assigned two young brothers and followed them through seven placements in her first year as a CASA. Imagine these little children moving seven times in one year, living with strangers and having no family and friends to count on. That is what Jack and Sam experienced right here in Santa Barbara County. Their emotional, physical, and psychological health deteriorated. Meichelle realized that there had to be a better way, and now there is.
