Our club has been a major sponsor and participant for this event for over 12 years.  This year was another great success for our club and the many kids who participated from Guadalupe.

PROGRAM

Steve Lavagnino, Fifth District Supervisor, was our program for the day.  He provided a review of the county budget - almost $1 billion dollars.  He let us know that of that amount, about $230 million was considered 'discretionary'.  Discussed the new north county jail and associated costs; Facility maintenance funding; Road maintenance funding; and the general concern regarding unfunded liability associated with pension costs.  Mr. Lavagnino provided insight regarding the recent oil spill; ban on plastic bags; and announced the Stand Down for Veterans on October 17.  A very insightful talk from a longtime public servant.  Thank you Steve!

PRESIDENTIAL NOTES & INFO

'Save of the Day'!  The Seiferts get 'relief' at the Paso Robles Mid State Fair, compliments of Tim Staffel.  It was not quite determined if Mr. Staffel removed someone from their seats to place the Seiferts in a comfortable spot, or if he gave up his own seats ............... A BIG thanks either way!
