8) Betty Miller announced that there is a group attending the PCPA production of Beauty and the Beast on December 2.

PAUL HARRIS FELLOW PRESENTATIONS
Carol Bradfield presented the Paul Harris Fellow to her husband, Clay. Who is an engineer, and a Colonel. He has been married to Carol 34 years. Clay resigned from Rotary, when military commitments prevented him from continuing. This award is long overdue.
BRAGS
Shannon Seifert bragged $150. She sincerely appreciated all the help with the YMCA Golf Tournament on Friday…so fun to have everyone out there. The event netted the highest amount ever!
Dan Blough bragged $50 on his recent trip on a Mississippi river paddle boat. They couldn’t take the full tour because of high waters and rains. He was impressed with the tour company who due to the incompleteness of the tour, covered air fare, and gave a credit – he has booked another cruise!
Dale Johnson announced that his wife asked him to brag on this new winery; Caldwell Winery? – At least that is what it said on the picture that was presented to Andy Caldwell
Jason Stilwell bragged $40 on the San Francisco Giant’s Madison Bumgarner.
Mark Bachman bragged on his two boys who are having birthdays – 17 and 15, for a brag of $32.
Debbie Blow bragged on the successful OCAF Chalk Festival and her upcoming Birthday - $59
Ted Ortega bragged $25 on Brett Krause, who at a recent tournament won the ball drop and donated his winnings back to the event.
Rich Watson bragged $50 on winning a prize at the golf tournament and then said he only had $11 left of his prize.

Andy Caldwell for one last time
He went on a two and a half week “working” vacation in St George UT, and Mesquite NV. Toured Brice Canyon, Zion Canyon and the north side of Grand Canyon, all in one day – wow.

At a recent Golf Tournament, some of our club members sponsored holes. There are pictures of many of them, and some were not wearing their Rotary Pins. Sounds like an opportunity to issue a fine... But who does it go to?
Jim Small? or was that Jim Ventriglia?, who says has never been called Small before, or was it Kelly Smith?? I’m very confused and someone got fined….. not sure who?
Laurie asked for ideas for fines: aka how to out your friends, then she fined the whole group $30 each, because we didn’t know the name of the International president - John Germ. I think Laurie demonstrated that she has gotten a handle on issuing fines.

Operation Surf
It started with a mission
Van Curaza and Amazing Surf Adventures, CEO, Amanda Curaza presented our program for the morning. Amazing Surf Adventures has been “changing lives one wave at a time” since 2006.
Van was born in Santa Maria, and during troubling times, surfing was the thing that helped him trough and kept him focused. Van began helping with Adaptive Surfing programs in 2006. As an instructor. Van successfully helped disabled students — many of them wounded veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars — catch and ride waves for their first time. In September 2008, at the National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic (NVSSC) in San Diego, Van Curaza Surf School participated in surfing instruction to help make surfing the most successful event of the clinic. Drawing on his lifelong passion to help underprivileged and at-risk youth and his experiences with our wounded soldiers and veterans, Van created Amazing Surf Adventures.
This work led into the creation of Operation Surf, which each year hosts disabled veterans for a week of surfing and camaraderie. Participants of Operation Surf have said the experience was one of great healing, and changed their life.
