Andrew Hackleman

Vandenberg and Commercial Space Industry in the Santa Maria Valley

Mr. Hackleman spoke to us about the status and economics of VAFB and how it affects the the Santa Maria Valley. The following sample of facts were very interesting. The space industry is forecasted to grow 8-fold to about $2 Trillion over the next decade and a half. The creation of the Space Force has placed strategic Department of Defense emphasis on space. Commercial applications demand space solutions: weather/climate, communications, defense, etc. This will continue to be an ongoing positive economic process as the years go by. The speaker then took questions from the audience members after the conclusion of his presentation.
