History of Orcutt Presbyterian Church
Gary spoke to us this morning about the history of OPC and how it came to be established 120 years ago. The church came to be with the early Orcutt settlers that arrived with the discovery of oil in region. Union Oil brought in the vast majority of workers. Along with well paying jobs, they also needed a place to feed their spiritual souls as well. In 1907 the church became a reality. Over the years, the physical location changed on a few occasions and various pastors rotated in as well. Gary's presentation was very detailed and touched base on the many areas of of our Orcutt community.
