BRAGS

Tim Staffel (Rotarian of the Month):  bragged on the following:
His Birthday is coming up in ten days, he is going to Las Vegas for the  National Finals Rodeo, his 31st wedding anniversary will be in  December, and he bragged on the new fire chief, and the new city councilman, Michael Moats.  WOW!

Debbie Blow – bragged $50 on the Orcutt Community for the passage of Measure G for Orcutt Schools, and Valerie Moya for referring a current employee of hers to Orcutt Union School District.

Shannon Seifert – bragged on Terri Stricklin.   Shannon took a group from the Y to the Hitching Post; it was awesome and worth $50.

Mike Moats – bragged $100 on spending all day at Arroyo Grande Hospital with his wife who had a knee replacement.   Now she can go hiking in the hills :)

Terry Dworaczyk – bragged $100 on his 40th wedding anniversary and spending 9 days in Israel.

Mike Gibson – bragged $35 on Pedro Moreida from CALM, who passed away from a heart attack last Tuesday night.  God took him too young; pray for the staff at CALM as well as his clients – he made a big difference.

Laurie Tamura - bragged on her Chevy Tahoe that has gone over 250,000 miles.  She bought a replacement, -  a new Chevy Tahoe, what else?  - $50

Fines:
Members at Tim Seifert’s Table were each fined $30…..just because!
That would be:  Rob Buchannan, Mike Cardona, Mark Clarke, Martin Testa, James Thomas, Jim Peterson, and Tim Seifert

Kerin Massey and Rob Buchannan were each fined $30 for being featured in the Pacific Coast News in the health care section.

Dan Blough, Shannon Seifert, Terri Stricklin, and Pat McDermott were also fined $30

PROGRAM

Global Grant For Early Childhood Education in Sri Lanka

Our program this week was presented by Helena and Hans Dahlin from the Goleta Club.  They provided information about a 2015-16 Rotary club project that supported early childhood education by improving preschool teacher’s training in rural Sri Lanka.  This program is provided by a Rotary Grant that is now helping 375 preschool teachers (some are currently in training) to get their diploma.  This will benefit 7,500 children annually.

During their travels to Sri Lanka, Helena and Hans distributed educational materials and toys to three different Pre-schools.  Many of these schools do not have electricity or water.  They were very appreciative of the help and support.
