Lee Carroll: Passing a clipboard for a signup for the annual turkey drive.
 
A Secret Garden: Betty Miller is organizing a Rotary visit to PCPA to see A Secret Garden. The date is Friday December 3rd. A sign-up clipboard is being circulated at each meeting. Please add your name(s) if you plan on attending.

Christmas Parade of Lights: has officially been cancelled due to Covid protocols, Don't be discouraged, we will try it again next year.
 
Mark Your Calendar! Our Family Christmas Party will be held on Thursday December 23 at 7:00 AM at the SM Country Club. Note: Each member will be responsible to buy a gift for the children they invite. I'm sure that a clipboard will be circulating in the coming weeks.
 
Today's Rotary Minute: Today's Rotary Minute was presented by Tim Staffel who talked about his experiences as a Rotarian for about 30 years and a member of this Breakfast Club for about 20 years. Tim talked about a few of the people he knew and about the great programs and how the noon club used to be the club that did the larger portion of the work that Rotary does in this area but in recent years the Breakfast club has taken on that role.
 
 
 
BRAGS:
 
Laurie Tamura: Tells us about her recent vacation, the news that she and Jeff are soon to be grandparents and that her niece, Annie Heybl is second year CIF Champion for St. Joe's golf team. Laurie also told us about meeting Jim Bray in Dallas. $100
Kevin Walthers: Kevin told us how Hancock College has won the Aspen Prize for being in the top 150 community colleges. $100
Tanya Astrosky: Tanya gave us an update on the VTC golf  tournament and told us about her son Dustin who is head coach of the girls volleyball team at St. Joe's and they are going to the CIF Central final game on Saturday. Dustin is also a basketball referee and has been invited to the collegiate level and will officiate at Santa Barbara City College Friday night. $50
 
Shannon Seifert: Shannon bragged on Peter Kang who did a service for Sue Sword. Shannon also bragged on Andy Caldwell for helping with a transportation issue. $50
 
Kate Ferguson: Kate bragged on Kevin Walthers for what he has done for Hancock College. Kate also bragged that she got a new puppy. $35

Jim Bray: Scheduled The Rocketeer on the same days as the PCPA Secret Garden. $30
 
Jason Francia" Fined for his introduction of his guest Gilbert MArquez. $30
 
Mike Moates: Observed by a fellow Rotarian who observed that it took Mike 30 minutes to get out of his corvette. $30

PROGRAM
 
Past District Governor Frank Ortiz
The Rotary Foundation
Frank explained what the Rotary Foundation does locally and in the world, in addition to the prime directive "Polio Plus", eradicating Polio in the world.
Areas of focus are: Promoting peace, Fighting disease, Providing clean water, sanitation and hygiene, Saving mothers and children, Supporting education, Growing local economies and Protecting the environment.
Frank also invoked the help of red badge Chris Logan to answer a couple of questions and to help hold the posters.
A special part of the program was to present Paul Harris Fellows to two members.
