BRAGS & FINES

Brags

Kirk Spry: Was named the well deserved September "Rotarian of the Month". Since he has unlimited free brags this month, Kirk chose to brag on his good friend Rob Buchanan. It seems that Rob's Alma Mater BYU, narrowly beat Kirk's beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers in the previous week's football battle. It was the only brag that I've ever seen with teeth clenched.

Craig Miller: Craig bragged $100 on his wife's birthday.

Jerry Walsh: Bragged $50 on his birthday today (9/10)

Carl DeRiso: Had a fantastic golf trip which included a round at Pebble Beach. That was worth $107.

Ted Ortega: Ted experienced his first USC football game and had a great time. He also was celebrating the new Chumash compact with the state of California. $25

Jack Gresser: Mr. Gresser just returned from three weeks in Hawaii. He also was happy that Cal Poly won by a game winning field goal against the Montana Grizzlies. $50

Fines

Kristine Mollenkopf: Kristine and her husband Jeff went to the Boise State football game and didn't brag about it. President Shannon felt that was worthy of a $30 fine. (She did have a great time though).

Mike Moats: Dr. Moats and his wife Susan was also part of the Idaho Mob over the weekend. Bob and Marcy Freidlein were in attendance as well. After Mike gave the membership a "semi" short update on the trip (which included a weather report), President Shannon reminded him that it was still fine material and assessed him $30.

Reggie Johnson: Was fined for the Club having to award his blue badge to him in absentia (or is it abstentia?). Oh well whatever it is, that was worth $30.

PROGRAM

This week's meeting was devoted solely to Club Assembly. Each year the new club president presides over a meeting that involves a "members only" informational session. The club's officers, directors and committee chairs share club projects, activities and other initiatives with the general membership. Any necessary changes to the club's continuing resolutions are also brought to the attention of the members and voted on if required. The Rotary Foundation Board also made a presentation to update the club on their recent activities and financial outlook. Discussion and questions are encouraged so that the membership understands the goals and objectives for the current fiscal year. All club members are encouraged to attend Club Assembly each year so that they can gain a better understanding of the mission of the club.
