ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Rotary Board Meeting: On Wednesday July 15, 2020, our Club's Board had a meeting at Rotary Park in Santa Maria. All officers in attendance gave reports on their field of expertise. Two items in particular came to light. One is that our club will be donating a sizeable amount to Allan Hancock College's Promise Program. The second announcement is that our club will also donate $1,000 to the Good Samaritan shelter to help feed the needy during these trying times. The Board meets every month and all interested members are invited to attend. Contact Ryan Swack or Frank Ortiz for more information.

Jean-luc in France: A photo of what might "come to be" after a few short months living in Tennessee

Covid-19 Update: President Swack shared various charts and graphs showing that the local spread of Coronavirus has once again taken an upswing. State, county and city measures continue to be implemented to help bring this virus under control. As Rotarians, we all continue to do our part to help bring this deadly disease under control.

AG for Youth Golf Tournament: At this point it is definitely still on. Anyone wishing to participate contact Roberto Rodriguez or call the club directly. There is also a Pebble Beach raffle drawing available for $200 per ticket.

CASA Duck Derby: The annual fundraiser is coming up quickly, Reserve your duck today and hopefully you will be the grand prize winner.

BRAGS:

Martin Testa & Jim Peterson: Last week they were fined $30 each in absentia as they traveled with their wives to Yellowstone National Park. This week, having recently returned, they were glad to offer $30 brags each for "The Best Trip Ever". They had a great time and they would recommend it to all their fellow Rotarians

Roberto Rodriguez: bragged on his recent birthday and the fun and great service that he and his family had at The Hitching Post. $41

Kate Ferguson: wanted to brag on all the members that showed up to her home last week to honor Jean-luc and Tanya Garon and wish them good luck and safe travels as they venture off to Tennessee. That was worth $50

FINES:

 NO FINES THIS WEEK

Program

This week's speaker was our very own Jason Stillwell. As all of you know, Jason serves as the Santa Maria City Manager. This morning Jason updated all of us on the current "State of the City" as well as a variety of upcoming projects that we will see completed in the coming months and years. He also addressed the current Covid-19 status as well as the upcoming election in November. After his presentation, Jason answered many questions from the members present.
