Dan Blough Scholarship Program

The Dan Blough Scholarship recognizes students who seek to enter a technical profession in engineering and industrial technology, hospitality, nutrition, food or culinary arts. To be eligible, students must enroll in a program offered by a California Community College or in an apprenticeship program offered in conjunction with a California Community College. Eligible programs include all areas of study in Chapter 09 or subsections 1306 and 1307 of the California Community College Taxonomy Of Programs.

Dan spent his life on earth doing what he loved and he loved to be challenged. He lived his life creatively! He will be remembered for all his courage and strength to empower Santa Barbara County and Santa Maria, the city he loved, and invested his time in community development, charitable giving, organizations, and multiple committees. Dan lived for family, friends, camping, cooking, entertaining, woodworking, developing, and technology. But his true passion was fishing and telling a good story while drinking Tanqueray.   A Real Estate Agent at 18, a Real Estate broker by 20, Certified Commercial Investment Member at 27, Contractor, Developer, Investor, Santa Barbara County Planning Commissioner, Rotarian, Pilot, Husband, Son, Brother and Loyal Friend!

Our goal is to establish an endowment that will allow an eligible student to receive a scholarship to pursue a technical/vocational education in the varieties of professions that Dan loved.
